The long-awaited release of tens of thousands of files on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy has sparked a desperate search for new clues in the shocking crime more than 60 years on.

About 2,200 files consisting of more than 63,000 pages were posted by the US National Archives and Records Administration revealing the KGB thought the convicted gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, was a “poor shot”.
