The Rockets are acquiring their 2028 second-round draft pick from Atlanta in exchange for taking on the salary of veteran Hawks center Cody Zeller.

The Celtics indeed made a move at the trade deadline, though it was just shipping Jaden Springer to the Rockets.

The Houston Rockets made if official on Thursday, acquiring fourth-year guard Jaden Springer from the Boston Celtics along with a pair of second-round picks in 2027 (protected) and 2030 (unprotected).

Just a day before the deadline, the Boston Celtics have made their first trade of the season. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Celtics have traded Jaden Springer and a 2030 second-round pick to the Houston Rockets.

In a deadline deal, the Rockets acquired Celtics prospect Jaden Springer and a future second-round draft pick. Boston’s motivation was cash savings.
