A Nintendo Switch 2 'leak' has revealed the console could be releasing sooner than players think. Nintendo's president Shuntaro Furukawa recently confirmed the console has entered mass production after dataminers claimed the Switch 2 was being produced heavily from November 2024 onwards.

The most encouraging price point comes from the leaker Average Lucia Fanatic, who claimed the Switch 2 will cost just CA$400 — or around US$280. While the leaker did correctly predict both the PS5 Pro and Nintendo Alarmo last year, there’s one incredibly good reason to be skeptical here: He also said the console was due to be launched last week.

Nintendo’s Switch 2 reveal in January showed very little in the way of games, except an untitled new Mario Kart. We’ll have to wait a few more weeks to get a closer look at the company’s software lineup for Switch 2 — but we might have some helpful indicators about which of Nintendo’s internal development teams have been making software for the next-gen console for the past few years.

The Nintendo Switch 2 had previously been tipped to launch with a price tag of around $399, which at the time of writing is about £310 in the UK (although the UK price tag will almost certainly be more than that).
