GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - On Monday night at KSP, the Gator softball team knew they had to prevent No. 2 Texas from sweeping Florida in their SEC home opener. The Gators went back to what works in conference play. Pitching and defense. It paid off as the Gators held the (28-2) Longhorns to two hits in the 3-1 win.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 3 Florida softball team earned a 3-1 victory over No. 2 Texas on Monday night in its series finale with the Longhorns at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. In front of a crowd of 2,108, the Gators recorded their highest-ranked home victory since defeating No. 1/2 Florida State on April 12, 2017.
