Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU with other confirmed actors including stars Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, 'X-Men' stars like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, and a good chunk from the studio's 'Thunderbolts.

Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars are two of the tentpoles of Marvel’s upcoming phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They’ll see the return of both the Russo brothers as directors and Robert Downey Jr., who’ll be swapping the Iron Man mask for Doctor Doom. Marvel reportedly spent big to get the band back together.

With the promise of an all-star cast led by Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and Infinity War and Endgame’s creative team back in action, the fifth Avengers movie could bring back much of the franchise’s lost spark.
