Schottenheimer, the team’s offensive coordinator the last two seasons, has agreed to a contract to become the Cowboys head coach, the team announced Friday night. The deal is for four years, a person with knowledge of the contract told The Dallas Morning News.

Jerry Jones went with Brian Schottenheimer over Kellen Moore, who spent five seasons with the Cowboys from 2018-2022, with the latter four seasons as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Brian Schottenheimer has not been a head coach at any level, but Dallas' offensive coordinator agreed to terms on Friday to replace Mike McCarthy and become the 10th head coach in Cowboys history.
