A yellow weather warning for heavy rain with a risk of localised flooding has been issued by the Met Office. The warning is in place for Essex, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. It comes into force between 08:00 GMT on Sunday until 06:00 on Monday.

Meteorologists have issued North Staffordshire with a rain warning - once the area emerges from a battering of strong winds. The alert comes as the Potteries is braced for the arrival of Storm Éowyn tomorrow - which has seen red, amber and yellow alerts dished out across the UK.

The Met Office has said that as Storm Éowyn weakens and clears to the northeast of the UK, Saturday will remain a breezy day everywhere with strong winds persisting in the north. It will be drier for many, with showers replacing persistent heavy rain, these wintry in the north, especially over higher ground.
