Keep your eyes on the skies from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, and you might see an unusual cosmic convergence: two meteor showers, the Southern Delta Aquariids and the Alpha Capricornids, peaking in intensity on the same night.

The Southern Delta Aquariids and Alpha Capricornids meteor showers peak over northern Oklahoma this week, with the best viewing overnight into early Wednesday morning. Clear skies and minimal moonlight will offer ideal conditions to view some meteors.

As its name suggests, the Southern Delta Aquariids will be most visible to stargazers situated in the Southern Hemisphere, where the radiant is higher in the post-sunset sky. However, the shower will still be visible to those north of the equator, albeit at a lower hourly rate.
