Cooper Flagg's summer league days are over, according to Marc Stein. The Mavericks are expected to shut down the No. 1 overall pick for the remainder of the Las Vegas Summer League, which means the next time we'll see him in game action will be during the preseason.

The Dallas Mavericks fell to 1-1 in Las Vegas Summer League, losing to the San Antonio Spurs, 76-69. David Garcia-Jones led the Spurs in scoring with 21 while number two overall draft pick Dylan Harper scored 16 with six rebounds, a pair of assists, two steals, and a block. Cooper Flagg scored 31 points and grabbed four rebounds in defeat.

While all the attention was being paid to Cooper Flagg, former Auburn guard Miles Kelly was looking to show his capabilities on the basketball court. He scored 17 points in the Mavericks first game of the Las Vegas Summer League and helped his team to an 87-85 win over the Lakers.

Basketball fans witnessed several impressive and unexpected selections during the 2025 NBA Draft. The San Antonio Spurs selected Dylan Harper with the second overall pick in the first round. Harper was later included in the Spurs’ roster for the 2025 NBA Summer League.
