Italian Matteo Berrettini upset third-seeded Novak Djokovic 7-6 (4), 6-2 in the first round of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha on Tuesday. It was the first career win in five attempts for Berrettini against the Serbian and also his first victory over a top-10 player since 2023.

Novak Djokovic will not battle for his 100th ATP title in Doha! The two-time champion suffered an early loss at the ATP 500 event, losing to Matteo Berrettini 7-6, 6-2 in an hour and 33 minutes in the first round.
