The transfer saga that is the future of Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz has continued to play out this evening. It was believed that Wirtz had agreed on personal terms with Bayern Munich.

Yesterday, it was reported by Sacha Tavolieri for Sky Sports that Bayern Munich were intent on pricing Florian Wirtz out of a move to the Etihad. Tavolieri reported that Bayern Munich were offering a mammoth contract to the Bayer Leverkusen playmaker.

Take Florian Wirtz, for example. The FIFA rule changes mean City could theoretically sign Wirtz, register him before the tournament, and use the games in the USA to blood their new signing and give him valuable training time under Pep Guardiola. If he is going to sign, he would be a huge asset to the Club World Cup bid.
