A federal grand jury indicted a San Francisco tow truck operator for conspiracy to commit arson as part of an alleged plot to drive more business to his companies by torching his competitors' trucks.

An owner of San Francisco towing companies who is already facing multiple indictments is facing an additional charge for allegedly plotting to burn the tow trucks of his competitors, prosecutors said.

A San Francisco man was in court on Thursday after being accused of conspiring and setting fires to competing tow trucks throughout the Bay Area in 2023.
