The 12 Democrats accused the Trump administration of violating the law when it turned them away from immigrant detention sites and imposed a new policy limiting congressional access.

A dozen House Democrats sued Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security for failing to admit Congress members to carry out oversight of federal immigrant detention facilities.

The complaint alleges the illegal obstruction of lawmakers’ oversight duties, but an official says legislators “could have just scheduled a tour.”
