It's the end of an era in the Chicago area and in Washington, D.C., as Democratic Congressman Danny Davis announced Thursday he's not running for another term in 2026, after serving nearly 30 years in Congress.

CHICAGO -- U.S. Rep. Danny Davis announced Thursday that he won't seek reelection next year after 15 terms in office, making him the latest longtime Illinois Democrat to announce their retirement from Congress.

Ill., won't seek re-election after completing his 15th term next year and has endorsed an Illinois state representative to replace him.
