Claire's is seeking "strategic alternatives" through Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is planning to close 18 U.S. stores as it navigates economic pressures.

The glitter has dimmed at Claire's. The iconic mall store, a haven of first piercings and jewelry for teens, has filed for bankruptcy again. This time, however, the sparkle might be gone for good.

As Claire’s continues to navigate the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process, the company has confirmed a handful of locations are set to close. The teens and tweens-focused retailer will close 13 Claire’s locations, along with five Icing stores, which are also owned by the company.
