Fresh cross-border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia broke out on Sunday hours after US President Donald Trump announced the two Southeast Asian nations had agreed to ceasefire talks.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday he believed both Thailand and Cambodia wanted to settle their differences after he told the leaders of both countries that he would not conclude trade deals with them unless they ended their fighting.

Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to stop fighting after deadly clashes at their shared border. Over the past few days, fighting between the two countries killed at least 35 people and injured more than 200.
