Bryan Braman, a former West Texas A&M star who played three seasons for the Houston Texans and another four for the Philadelphia Eagles (where he won a Super Bowl ring), died on Thursday after battling cancer.

The GoFundMe was established as Braman entered a 12-week treatment program in Seattle to fight life-threatening cancer. The treatment program required a 24-hour caregiver, but Braman's insurance did not pay for housing, and he began to pay out of pocket for treatment and lodging.

Super Bowl-winning linebacker Bryan Braman, who played for two teams across seven seasons in the NFL, has died aged 38 after a battle with a “very rare form of cancer,” his agent confirmed to CNN Sports on Thursday.
