The museum is a treasure trove of history and the curators are knowlegdable and helpful. We took our 13 yr old grandson who is a flight enthusiast and he was blow away with the museum and the staff.Full review by 619WilliamS619

Is the museum accessible? My 93 years dad uses a walker, but maybe we should bring a wheelchair so its not to much for him. Also when are tours offered. My dad was in the navy and served on a tanker I think. He said they refueled the planes.

I would say that they're probably a little young. There's a lot of history, and lots to read. It's also Air Force and war oriented. While as the previous reviews said, there are some cockpits into which one may climb, the meaning, history, and lessons, I would imagine, might be lost on children so young. Next year, your older grandchild might appreciate it more--particularly when they learn about the history of L.I. in Social Studies.
