We came to drive through the park - stopping at nice scenery (we were not there to hike or camp, etc). We did the whole park before lunch and that was with backtracking some of the way and covering …Full review by HighlandLass24

Beautiful park, especially in full fall foliage! The National Park covers everything from mountain tops to sea shores so there’s an outdoor spot for everyone taste. We only spent a day there as we we…Full review by luv2ride

There is so much to do. Hiking, kayaking, trying out different restaurants. Many of the hikes are near the ocean. Bar Harbor is a great place to shop. Go and have fun!Full review by jender13
We are mid 60''s to 70. We enjoy bicycling and thinking about bringing them to ride carriage roads. Is there drastic elevation for rides? We can handle some but not used to mountain cycling. We don't want to rent ebikes.

Biking is very doable but you need to plot out where you're going. It would be primarily on the loop road if you want scenic, or near Jordan Pond if you don't want steep areas. The carriage roads are crushed rock & ok for regular bicycles. Depending on when you're thinking of coming, you'll need to be aware of "mud season" when the carriage roads are closed & then crowds in the summer. The NPS page on Acadia has a great section on biking in the park. It's a beautiful place no matter how you explore it.
It says you need a car pass to go on the sunrise view on Cadillac Mtn., until Oct 22. We are going to be there from Oct 25 to 28th. Can we still go? Do we need a pass? Thanks

Google says Cadillac Summit Road closes Dec 1. My guess is that they are not that busy end of Oct so that’s why no pass required.
Family will be driving an RV up to Acadia next month and are staying at various campgrounds. I see that not many places offer RV parking, however NPS told me that there is 1 or 2 RV parking spots at Sand Beach. Can anyone confirm? It seems like Sand beach (for little beehive hikes, etc) and the Bass Head Harbor lighthouse are the hardest to park near from an RV. Getting there early isn't an issue, but just need to know where to go? Can anyone advise? Thanks!

When we were there last week the parking lot was full as was the back up lot and cars were lined up along the roadway as far as allowed. I noticed an RV or two parked along the road where we ended up, but am not sure where the actual RV designated spots are located. I imagine they are in the primary or main lot somewhere. We didn’t get there until maybe 2 in the afternoon and agree that earlier would have better chances of best parking.
